Booking an appointment at Stella’s is easy! You can reserve your bridal appointment directly through the Contact Us page on our website, where you’ll see our available dates and appointment types.

Once you select a time, you’ll receive a confirmation email with everything you need to know before your visit — including what to bring, guest guidelines, and what to expect during your appointment.

If you have questions before booking, you’re always welcome to reach out to us by phone, email, or Instagram DM. Our team is happy to help you choose the appointment that’s the best fit for you or help book your appointment over the phone!

How far in advance should I book my bridal appointment?

We recommend booking your bridal appointment at least 1–2 weeks in advance, especially if you’re hoping for a Saturday appointment, as those tend to fill up the fastest.

That said, we often have weekday availability and are always happy to accommodate our brides whenever possible. If you’re hoping to come in sooner and don’t see a time that works online, feel free to reach out — we’ll do our best to help find a spot for you!

Do I need an appointment to try on wedding dresses?

Yes! Bridal appointments are required so that each bride receives a dedicated stylist and a space to try on gowns comfortably.

During your appointment, your stylist will pull dresses based on your vision, help with fit and styling, and guide you through the experience from your first try-on to your celebration moment. This allows us to give every Stella’s bride the personalized experience she deserves.

Appointments can be reserved online through our website, where you’ll also find details about our different appointment types and guest guidelines.

How long is a bridal appointment?

Our bridal appointments at Stella’s Bridal are 90 minutes long.

This gives you plenty of time to work one-on-one with your stylist, try on a curated selection of gowns, and narrow down your favorites without feeling rushed. Most brides spend about an hour trying on gowns, with the remaining time to revisit favorites and celebrate their final choice.

Is there a fee for bridal appointments?

Our standard bridal appointments are free.

We also offer upgraded appointment options for brides who would like a more private space and the ability to bring additional guests. Upgraded appointments are $85 for up to 6 guests or $125 for up to 8 guests.

Because appointment times are reserved specifically for you and your stylist, we do have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Full details about each appointment type can be found on our Appointments page when booking.

What is included in an upgraded bridal appointment?

Our upgraded bridal appointments are designed for brides who would like a more private and celebratory shopping experience.

These appointments include a private bridal suite, the ability to bring additional guests, a bridal gift, and our signature confetti celebration when you find the one.

Brides and their guests are also welcome to bring champagne or wine to enjoy during the upgraded appointment if they’d like to celebrate the moment.

As an added touch, we provide charcuterie & sweet treats for you and your guests to enjoy during your visit.

This experience includes space for up to 10 guests, charcuterie and refreshments, and the option to bring champagne or wine if you’d like to toast the occasion. When you find the one, we finish the moment with our signature confetti celebration.

How many guests can I bring to my appointment?

Guest limits depend on the type of appointment you choose:

Standard Bridal Appointment: up to 4 guests
Upgraded Bridal Experience (6 guests): up to 6 guests
Upgraded Bridal Experience (8 guests): up to 8 guests
After-Hours Bridal Experience: up to 10 guests

We recommend bringing the people whose opinions matter most to you so your experience stays relaxed, supportive, and focused on helping you find the one.

Can I bring children to my appointment?

Yes, children are welcome to attend appointments at Stella’s Bridal.

Because bridal appointments are 90 minutes long, we recommend bringing along something to help keep little ones entertained during the visit. This helps ensure the experience stays relaxed and enjoyable for everyone while you focus on finding your dress.

What happens during a bridal appointment?

When you arrive at Stella’s Bridal, you’ll meet your stylist and spend a few minutes talking about your wedding, your vision, and the styles you’re excited to try. From there, your stylist will help select gowns for you to try on based on what you’re drawn to.

During the appointment, your stylist will help you into each gown, talk through fit and styling, and guide you as you narrow down your favorites. Most brides spend about an hour trying on gowns, with time at the end of the appointment to revisit favorites and celebrate when you find the one.

Our goal is to make the experience feel relaxed, supportive, and focused on helping you discover the dress that feels right for you.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

We understand that plans change! If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, just let us know as soon as possible and we’ll be happy to help you find another time that works.

There is no fee to reschedule your appointment. We simply ask for as much notice as you can give so we’re able to offer that appointment time to another bride.

Because appointment times are reserved specifically for you and your stylist, cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment may be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Wedding Dress Shopping Basics

When should I start shopping for my wedding dress?

Most brides begin shopping for their wedding dress 9–12 months before their wedding date.

Wedding gowns are typically made to order, and production times can take several months depending on the designer. After your dress arrives, you’ll also want to allow time for alterations to ensure the perfect fit.

If your wedding is sooner than that, don’t worry — we’re still happy to help! Many of our designers offer rush options, and we also have off-the-rack gowns available for brides with shorter timelines.

How long does it take for a wedding dress to arrive?

Most wedding dresses take about 4–6 months to arrive after they are ordered.

Because gowns are typically made to order by the designer, production takes time before the dress is shipped to the boutique. Once your gown arrives, you’ll also want to allow time for alterations to ensure the perfect fit before your wedding day.

If your wedding is sooner than that, don’t worry — many designers offer rush options, and we also carry off-the-rack gowns that can be taken home much sooner.

How much do wedding dresses cost?

Wedding dress prices can vary widely depending on the designer, fabric, and level of detail. At Stella’s Bridal, most of our wedding dresses fall between $1,500 and $3,000, with some couture styles priced higher.

Our collection includes gowns from designers such as Essense of Australia, Madi Lane, Casablanca Bridal, and more — each offering different styles, fabrics, and levels of craftsmanship.

During your appointment, your stylist will help guide you toward dresses that fit both your style and your budget, so you can feel confident exploring options that are realistic for your wedding plans.

If you’re looking for something more budget-friendly, we also offer off-the-rack sample gowns and an elopement collection, with styles priced under $1,000.

What is the average price of a wedding dress in Maryland?

Wedding dress pricing can vary depending on the designer and level of detail, but most brides in Maryland spend between $1,500 and $3,000 on their gown.

At Stella’s Bridal, most of our brides find their dress in the $1,500–$2,000 range, with a variety of styles available above and below that price point.

During your appointment, your stylist will help guide you toward gowns that fit both your vision and your budget.

What size wedding dresses does Stella's carry?

At Stella’s Bridal, our sample gowns range from sizes 4–30 in store so brides can try on a variety of styles during their appointment.

Most of our designers offer extended sizing, and many gowns can be ordered from size 0–32, depending on the designer.

Your stylist will help with clips and styling during your appointment so you can comfortably visualize how each dress will fit when ordered in your size.

Do you carry plus-size wedding dresses?

Yes! Stella’s Bridal carries a wide range of plus size wedding gowns in store.

Our sample gowns range from sizes 4–30, allowing many brides to try on dresses comfortably during their appointment. Most of our designers also offer extended sizing, with many gowns available to order up to size 32, depending on the designer.

Your stylist will help with fit and styling during your appointment so you can easily visualize how each gown will look when ordered in your size.

Our goal is for every bride to feel supported, comfortable, and celebrated throughout the experience.

Can I buy a wedding dress off the rack?

Yes! Stella’s Bridal does offer off-the-rack wedding dresses.

Off-the-rack gowns are dresses that are already in the store and can be purchased and taken home much sooner than a made-to-order gown. This can be a great option for brides with shorter timelines or for those who fall in love with one of our sample gowns.

During your appointment, your stylist can show you both made-to-order gowns and off-the-rack options depending on your timeline and what you’re looking for.

What is a sample wedding dress?

A sample wedding dress is the gown that brides try on during appointments in the boutique.

Because these dresses are used for try-ons, they may show minor wear from being handled or tried on, but they allow brides to see how different styles look and feel before placing an order.

In most cases, brides will try on a sample gown and then order a brand-new dress from the designer in their size. However, some sample gowns may also be available for off-the-rack purchase, which means you can take the dress home the same day.

Your stylist will always explain the options available for each gown you try on.

Do sample dresses cost less?

In most cases, the sample gowns you try on during your appointment are used to help you find the right style before ordering a brand-new dress from the designer.

However, Stella’s Bridal does offer a selection of sample gowns that are marked down and available off the rack through our Aisle Ready Collection. These dresses can be purchased at a reduced price and taken home the same day.

This collection is a great option for brides with shorter timelines or for anyone hoping to find a beautiful gown at a lower price point.

Can wedding dresses be altered?

Yes — most wedding dresses can be altered to achieve the perfect fit.

Common alterations include adjustments to the hem, straps, bust, and waist, helping the gown fit your body beautifully. Because every bride is unique, alterations are a normal part of the wedding dress process.

Once your gown arrives, we’ll guide you through the next steps and help you prepare for alterations so everything is ready in time for your wedding day.

Do you offer alterations?

Stella’s Bridal does not offer in-house alterations, but we’re happy to help guide you through the process.

After you purchase your gown, we provide our brides with a list of trusted local seamstresses who specialize in wedding dress alterations. These professionals have experience working with bridal gowns and can help ensure your dress fits beautifully for your wedding day.

Your stylist will also walk you through the general alterations timeline so you know when to schedule your fittings.

What should I wear to my bridal appointment?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and undergarments that make you feel confident while trying on gowns.

Many brides choose to wear nude underwear and a strapless bra, though it’s not required. Your stylist will help guide you through each try-on and ensure you feel comfortable throughout the appointment.

You may also want to bring shoes with a similar heel height to what you’re considering for your wedding day, but it’s completely okay if you don’t have them yet.

Most importantly, come ready to have fun and enjoy the experience — your stylist will take care of the rest.

Stella’s Bridal Experience

What makes Stella’s Bridal different from other bridal shops?

At Stella’s Bridal, we believe wedding dress shopping should feel supportive, relaxed, and truly personal.

Every bride works one-on-one with a dedicated stylist who takes the time to understand your vision, guide you through different silhouettes and designers, and help you discover the dress that feels right for you.

We’ve designed our appointments to feel intentional with plenty of time to explore gowns, revisit favorites, and celebrate the moment when you find the one.

Most importantly, our goal is to create an experience where brides feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely celebrated throughout the entire process.

Why should I shop at a bridal boutique instead of online?

Shopping at a bridal boutique gives you the opportunity to see, feel, and try on gowns in person, which can make a big difference when choosing such an important piece for your wedding day.

During your appointment at Stella’s Bridal, you’ll work one-on-one with an experienced stylist who can guide you through different silhouettes, fabrics, and designers to help you discover what feels best on your body.

A boutique experience also allows you to see how gowns truly fit and move, ask questions, and make confident decisions with the support of a professional who understands bridal fashion.

For many brides, it turns dress shopping into a special moment shared with the people they love, rather than just a purchase.

Do you help brides who aren’t sure what they want?

Absolutely! Many brides come to Stella’s Bridal without knowing exactly what style they’re looking for, and that’s completely normal!

During your appointment, your stylist will talk with you about your wedding, your vision, and any inspiration you may have. From there, they’ll guide you through different silhouettes, fabrics, and details so you can discover what feels right on your body.

Often, brides are surprised by the styles they end up loving most. Our goal is to create a supportive, low-pressure experience where you can explore different gowns and find the one that truly feels like you.

Can I customize a wedding dress?

Yes! Many wedding dresses can be customized depending on the designer and the gown.

Several of the designers at Stella’s Bridal offer customization options such as adding sleeves, adjusting necklines, changing fabrics, modifying trains, or altering certain design details. Your stylist can help you explore what options may be available for the gown you love.

During your appointment, we’re happy to talk through customization possibilities and help you determine what can realistically be done while keeping your wedding timeline and budget in mind.

Can I take photos?

Yes! You’re welcome to take photos during your appointment at Stella’s Bridal.

Many brides like to take pictures of their favorite gowns so they can look back on them later or share them with loved ones who couldn’t attend the appointment.

Your stylist will also help you step up onto the pedestal and view the gown from different angles so you can capture photos of the dresses you love most.

Pricing + Ordering

Do you require a deposit when ordering a dress?

At Stella’s Bridal, wedding dresses must be paid for in full before they are ordered with the designer.

If your wedding timeline allows, we’re happy to offer a payment plan of up to three months to help make the process more manageable. Your stylist can talk through payment timing with you during your appointment so you know exactly what to expect.

What payment methods do you accept?

Stella’s Bridal accepts all major payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and cash.

If you have questions about payment options or setting up a payment plan for your gown, your stylist will be happy to walk you through the details during your appointment.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! Stella’s Bridal offers a simple in-house payment plan to help make purchasing your gown more manageable.

If your wedding timeline allows, we can set up automatic monthly payments on your card for up to three months. Once the gown is paid in full, we’ll place the order with the designer.

Our payment plans are interest-free and do not involve any loans or third-party financing.

What happens after I order my dress?

Once your gown is ordered, the designer begins production specifically for you. Most wedding dresses take about 4–6 months to arrive at the boutique.

When your dress arrives at Stella’s Bridal, we’ll contact you to schedule a time for dress pickup so you can try on your gown and take it home. At that point, you can begin working with one of the recommended seamstresses from our alterations list to start the fitting process.

Your stylist will also review the general timeline with you so you know when to plan for alterations before your wedding day.

Does Stella's charge a tariff fee?

Yes. Due to recent tariffs affecting the bridal industry, Stella’s Bridal applies a $100 tariff fee for bridal gowns and a $50 tariff fee for mothers’ dresses.

Many wedding dresses are produced internationally, and these tariffs have increased the cost of bringing gowns into the United States. In many cases, the actual increase is higher than the fee itself — this charge simply helps offset a portion of those added costs.

Our goal is to keep our dress pricing as consistent as possible while continuing to offer the designers and styles our brides love. If you have questions about this fee, your stylist will always be happy to explain it during your appointment.

How do I know what size to order?

When you say yes to your gown, your stylist will take your professional measurements and compare them with the designer’s sizing chart to determine the best size to order.

Because every designer’s sizing is different, the size ordered may not be the same as the size you normally wear in everyday clothing. Your stylist will help choose the size closest to your measurements to ensure the best possible fit.

Most wedding dresses will still require alterations once they arrive so the gown can be tailored perfectly to your body.

What if I gain/lose weight?

Small changes in weight are very common during the wedding planning process, and it’s something seamstresses work with all the time.

When your gown arrives, alterations allow the dress to be adjusted to fit your body more precisely. During your appointment, your stylist will help choose the size closest to your measurements so there’s room for a seamstress to tailor the gown for the best possible fit.

If you anticipate a significant change in size before your wedding, your stylist can also help talk through timing and options so you feel confident moving forward.

Dress Pickup + After Purchase

How do I know when my dress arrives?

When your gown arrives at Stella’s Bridal, our team will contact you by text and email to let you know it’s ready.

At that point, we’ll help you schedule a dress pickup appointment so you can try on your gown and take it home to begin the alterations process.

What happens at my dress pickup appointment?

During your pickup appointment, you’ll try on your wedding dress to see how it’s fitting now that it has arrived from the designer.

Your stylist will review the gown with you, answer any questions you may have, and help you start thinking about the next steps in the alterations process. We also build in time during this appointment to explore veils, jewelry, and other accessories that can complete your bridal look.

It’s a special moment where you finally get to see your gown again — this time as your dress.

How should I store my wedding dress before the wedding?

If you’re taking your gown home after pickup, we recommend storing it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the dress in its garment bag and avoid areas with moisture, heat, or pets that could potentially damage the fabric.

Many brides choose to hang the gown carefully by the hanger straps inside the dress rather than the sleeves or straps to help protect the structure of the gown.

If you’d prefer not to store the dress at home, Stella’s Bridal also offers dress storage for $30 per month, which can give you peace of mind knowing your gown is safely stored until closer to your wedding date.

Do you offer dress steaming services?

Yes! Stella’s Bridal offers week-of-wedding steaming services to help ensure your gown looks its best for your big day.

This service is available for $100 and is designed to remove wrinkles and refresh your gown shortly before the wedding so it’s ready to wear.

If you’re interested in scheduling steaming for your dress, our team will be happy to help coordinate the timing as your wedding approaches.

Do you offer wedding dress preservation?

Yes! Stella’s Bridal offers wedding dress preservation services through Wedding Gown Preservation Co.

This service professionally cleans and preserves your gown so it can be safely stored and protected for years to come. Preservation is available for $400 and includes professional cleaning and archival packaging designed to prevent yellowing and fabric damage over time.

If you’re interested in preserving your gown after the wedding, our team will be happy to help you arrange the service.

What is an Unveiling Experience?

The Unveiling Experience is Stella’s Bridal’s upgraded dress pickup appointment designed to make the moment of seeing your gown again feel extra special.

During this experience, you’ll try on your wedding dress after it arrives while celebrating with up to 6 guests in a more intimate setting. We also provide sweet treats and refreshments so you and your guests can enjoy the moment together.

The Unveiling Experience is available for $50.

It’s a beautiful way to mark the next step in your bridal journey as your wedding day gets closer.

Mothers + Formalwear

Do you carry mother of the bride dresses?

Yes! Stella’s Bridal carries a selection of mother-of-the-bride and mother-of-the-groom dresses in a variety of styles.

Our collection includes elegant options designed specifically for mothers who want to feel confident and comfortable on the wedding day. We recommend scheduling a formal dress appointment so our team can help you explore the styles available and find the perfect look for the celebration.

When should mothers start shopping for their dresses?

We recommend that mothers begin shopping for their dress about 6–8 months before the wedding. This allows time for ordering and any alterations needed to ensure the perfect fit.

If the wedding is sooner than that, don’t worry, Stella’s Bridal also offers off-the-rack options that can be taken home much sooner.

Our team is always happy to help mothers explore the best options based on the wedding timeline.

Can mothers shop during bridal appointments?

Mother-of-the-bride and mother-of-the-groom dresses are not shopped during bridal appointments.

Our Mothers Suite is typically reserved for dedicated formal appointments, which allows our team to give mothers the time and attention they deserve while exploring styles. We recommend scheduling a Mother’s Appointment so we can provide the best possible experience.

Do you carry dresses for wedding guests?

Yes! Stella’s Bridal carries a selection of formal dresses that are perfect for wedding guests, as well as mothers of the bride and groom.

Our collection includes a variety of styles suitable for different dress codes and celebrations. We recommend scheduling a formal dress appointment so our team can help you explore the options and find the perfect dress for the occasion.

Where can I see your formalwear selection?

You can view our current formalwear selection on the Mothers Dresses page of our website. Everything we have available in the boutique is pictured there.

Many of these styles are also available in multiple color options, even if only one color is shown online. During your appointment, our team can help you explore the color variations available for each gown.

Do you offer payment plans on formal dresses?

Payment plans are not available for formal gowns. Formal dresses must be paid for in full at the time of purchase.

Our team will always be happy to help you explore the styles available within your budget during your appointment.
